Thank God This Bailout Died

The current $700 billion bailout being discussed recently died. Thank God for small miracles. Some republicans are blaming the failure on Nancy Pelosi’s pre-vote speech. Let take a minute or two to look at a few of her comments.
Democrats believe in the free market, which can and does create jobs, wealth, and capital, but left to its own devices it has created chaos.
Liar. This has been proven over and over and over. You say left to its own devices the free market creates chaos, prove it, get the government out once and for all. Government caused this mess so pull government out of the economy.
It is our responsibility today, to help avert that catastrophic outcome.
Where is Reagan when you need him.
Let us be clear: This is a crisis caused on Wall Street. But it is a crisis that reaches to Main Street in every city and town of the United States.
It is a crisis that freezes credit, causes families to lose their homes, cripples small businesses, and makes it harder to find jobs.
Shenannegans, this crisis did not result in lost homes but started from people not paying the mortgages.
The American people did not decide to dangerously weaken our regulatory and oversight policies. They did not make unwise and risky financial deals. They did not jeopardize the economic security of the nation.
The hell they didn’t. I have said before, the government started this whole mess, but everyone out there getting loans they could not afford, biting off more than they could chew and contributing to the stat that American’s spend $1.22 for every $1.00 they make helped cause this to and they are to blame.
The legislation must do everything possible to allow as many people to stay in their homes rather than face foreclosure.
No. You are starting the problem all over again, letting people have a home they can not afford. Thats bullshit and flies in the face of every hard working American that pays their bills, works two jobs to cover the mortgage or rent and sacrifices to make ends meet.
The corporate CEOs whose companies will benefit from the public’s participation in this recovery must not benefit by exorbitant salaries and golden parachute retirement bonuses.
But the people who racked up trillions in debt get to benefit from their mismanagement of their own finances. I worked my ass off to get out debt and still am, everyone else can too.
